Star Wars: Togruta OC Costume Design
In this project I take you through the making of my original character of my favourite species in the Star Wars universe, the Togruta! From concept art, to photoshoot, to moments of Costume Design/ Concept Art life overlap, to how the costume was made. There's some honest candid messy chaotic moments I included in the art process, but the end result made it all worth it, the blood, sweat & many tears. Many fond moments transforming myself into this character.
The end portion of this project is a collage/ tutorial of how I fabricated the look. I've been asked by many hopeful Togruta cosplayers how to make montrals & etc. I will direct folks here for now. In the future hope to make a more detailed tutorial with descriptions on what I'm doing to help others better.
Character Design & Costumes is my whole life. From digital to traditional methods of making it with my hands. Expect to see more of this on my page, as I love costume and making oc's in both of these forms.
Togruta Montral colour schemes I made to help me figure out how I wanted to paint my Montral head piece. Body paint colour options as well to help me see what would match best.

Creative lives overlap as I had a convention & dinner w/ my now former mentors Anthony Jones & Frank Hong, along w/ the others to kick off EC. This collage I made to promote from my experience of my friends' Concept Art event called Edge Control.
Last art life overlap. In latest version of costume, met our hero, Lucasfilm's Doug Chiang! He was incredibly kind & supportive! At event also was approached by Lucasfilm if they could shoot my costume for their archives, so flattered! Surreal Moments
Costume Design happened more organically after Textile Research, based off newer materials found.
